Question: How is #1 (taking my level 10 character to GWEN to level to 20 & get max armor quickly) significantly different than #2 (taking a level 10 to Kaineng center to level to 20 and get max armor quickly)?

Answer: I can only do it in GW:EN temporarily because of this promotion. Other than that time limit, it's just a change of scenery.

Slight correction, the Trial period is temporary, the Level 10 entry into GWEN is permanent. (after all, Anet wants to encourage more people to buy GWEN , not discourage).

A lot of people seem to be forgeting that max armours (and weapons) have been available by reaching Lion's Arch and switching campaigns, for quite some time.

This is not new - except for the buff, GW:EN has just been brought in line with Factions and Nightfall. Hell, if you have Factions, it's still better to go there first, because it's got more armour choices and a number of high XP, low-risk quests.

I expect LA runners to still be in demand. However, no need to be run to Armor Harbor of Nightfall anymore...

Factions players don't benefit from level 10 GWEN. You can't get to Keineng Center until you're close to level 20 anyway, and they offer max armor there as well. (but, since it's easiest to level in Factions, it's not that bad)

Hmm...I personally don't mind either way. I'm neutral in here. Granted all my chars are level 20 so I hardly noticed. And only one of my chars has beaten GWEN, the rest just went to put their armor in Hall of Monuments. I spend most of my time working on titles and armor and such. And now my contest.

So I didn't notice, but I do agree that if low-leveled people went into what's supposed to be a high-end area, they should suffer the consequences. I have died numerous times at level 5 or so in Kaineng City while diong the quests and it's not a high-end only area. So...yeah.

i think it makes prophecy+gwen the perfect game. (considerin anet is sellin them together).
it adds the hero component to the prophecy campaign.
with fewer ppl playin gw nowadays is useful to make the campaign "soloable" (with heros) .

Jk, but yeah, there's quite a bit of fallacy in this thread overall.

I don't have a problem with this change, though, because it got me to play on my lv15 Drunkard Warrior that's over a year old. He's lv18 now. I'd already played through all the campaigns a bit so I really didn't want to do them again, whereas I've only gone through GWEN with a Dervish. So it was a welcome change on my end.

Level 10's in Gwen does not affect the economy.
You can get to level 20 in 2-4 hours.
If they are level 10 its 1-3 hours.
Giving them an extra 3 hours doesn't kill the blasted economy, because they still have to PROGRESS through GW:EN to get to your damn high end loot, in which case they will be level 20 by then ANYWAYS.

Thats like saying because I can get a ferry at level freaking 2 from Kamadan to Kaining Centre Im ruining the economy because I got there freaking 1 hour before a normal factions would of.
My level 2 still needs to progress through the game to farm anything truly.
In which case I will then be level 20 by the time I'm at the stage of High-end loot.

99% of the people H/h anyway,And so will the lvl 10's with easy available heroes.
So no need to get defensive against the lvl 10's who probably know more about the game than you.
